RocketCell runs on EE — the UK's best mobile network

RootMetrics has named EE the UK's best mobile network for the 26th consecutive time. RocketCell runs on EE, combining leading UK mobile connectivity with automatic Salesforce call capture.

Business mobile calls do not happen neatly at a desk. They happen on the road, between meetings and at customer sites. That makes the underlying mobile network a critical part of the experience — and the latest independent testing is clear: EE remains the UK's top-performing mobile network.

RocketCell runs on EE's network. That gives mobile teams native calling over the network RootMetrics named the UK's best, while RocketCell handles the part ordinary mobile services miss: automatically recording, transcribing, summarising and logging business conversations in Salesforce.

EE has been named the UK's best mobile network — again

In the H1 2026 RootMetrics UK RootScore results, EE took the UK Overall RootScore Award for the 26th consecutive test period — roughly 13 years at the top of independent UK network testing.

EE won overall performance across every geography measured:

  • The UK-wide results
  • England
  • Scotland
  • Wales
  • Northern Ireland
  • All 16 major metropolitan areas tested

EE also won outright or shared every UK-wide RootScore category in the report. For businesses, the consistency matters more than any single headline: a network that leads nationally and in each nation is a more predictable foundation for a mobile workforce than one that peaks in a handful of cities.

More than a marketing claim

RootScore results come from extensive real-world testing rather than lab conditions or self-reported data. The H1 2026 report covers testing carried out between January and June 2026 across EE, O2, Three and Vodafone.

Testing at a glance

FigureWhat it covers

Testing included mobile use while driving, while walking and inside buildings, and sampled both high and low congestion periods. That mix is close to how a field-based team actually works: in a car, on foot between appointments, and inside a customer's building where signal is hardest to hold.

The results that matter for business mobile teams

Of the awards in the report, these are the ones most relevant to teams whose day is built around customer conversations:

  • The UK's Best Network
  • The UK's Fastest Network
  • The UK's Most Reliable Network
  • The UK's Best Network for Calls
  • The UK's Best 5G Experience

EE also recorded a median 5G download speed of 230.8 Mbps in the H1 2026 results. Useful context, but speed is rarely the deciding factor for a sales or service team. Call performance and reliability are. A call that connects first time, holds through a car park and stays clear inside a client's office is worth more to a mobile team than a faster file download.

Why the underlying network matters

Software cannot fix a call that never connected. The network sits underneath everything else, and its quality shows up in the working day of the people furthest from the office:

  • Sales representatives calling prospects between meetings
  • Recruiters speaking to candidates while away from a desk
  • Surveyors and property teams working at customer sites
  • Service engineers and field teams updating customers while travelling
  • Regulated teams that need mobile conversations captured consistently

There is a second, quieter point. A business mobile product is only useful if employees keep using the calling experience they already understand. The moment you ask a field team to switch apps, log in again or remember a new workflow before dialling, adoption slips and the record in your CRM becomes patchy.

Network experience will always vary by location, device, congestion and conditions — no network performs identically everywhere. The value of independent testing is that it shows which network holds up most consistently across the widest range of real environments.

What RocketCell adds to EE's network

EE provides the underlying mobile connectivity. RocketCell turns the resulting business conversations into structured Salesforce data.

With a RocketCell eSIM or SIM, employees make and take native cellular calls from the normal mobile dialler on their phone. There is no separate VoIP calling app to open, and nothing new to learn.

After the conversation, RocketCell can:

  • Automatically log the mobile call in Salesforce
  • Connect it to the relevant account, contact, lead, opportunity or case
  • Capture the recording where configured and legally permitted
  • Generate a transcript and an AI summary
  • Identify agreed actions and next steps
  • Support reporting, coaching, compliance and workflow automation

None of these Salesforce capabilities come from EE — they are RocketCell's software and service layer, delivered through our Salesforce and CRM integrations. If you want the mechanics, how RocketCell works walks through the path from a mobile call to a fully populated Salesforce activity.

The combination is what changes the picture for leadership. Pipeline reviews stop relying on whether a busy rep remembered to type a note after a call in a car park. Coaching draws on what was actually said. Compliance teams get a consistent record instead of a best-effort one.

The UK's best network, with every conversation visible in Salesforce

RocketCell brings together two things mobile teams should not have to choose between: high-quality native mobile connectivity and complete visibility inside Salesforce.

Your team keeps the phone experience they already trust. Your Salesforce org stops losing the conversations that happen away from a desk.

Network claims are based on the RootMetrics® UK RootScore® Report H1 2026, covering testing conducted between January and June 2026 across EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Experiences may vary. RootMetrics assessed EE's network performance and does not endorse RocketCell.
